TNM - Ecuador Self-Deportation
Animated sequences for this documentary by journalist Kimberly Avalos, following her uncle David's decision to leave the United States and return to Ecuador amid escalating cartel violence and mounting immigration pressures. Completed in three weeks, the animation visualizes the kidnapping of David's sons and the months of extortion that followed — rendered in high-contrast red illustration against grainy archival-style photography, giving form to events that couldn't be captured on camera. Creative Directed by Chloe Devine and myself. Produced by The News Movement.
