SAP Joule: The Autonomous Enterprise

Illustration and Motion Design

Working within SAP's Brand Creative team (via Simplicity Consulting), I contributed to the illustration and motion system behind SAP's Autonomous Enterprise platform, including Joule, the Business AI Platform, and five lines of business. The work spans static diagrams, full motion pieces, a brand icon system, and assets used live at SAP Sapphire, developed alongside a motion designer, an illustrator, and an art director on SAP's creative team.

Tools: Adobe After Effects, Figma, Recraft

Lines of Business Illustration & Motion System

Role: Lead Illustrator and Co-animator

I served as lead illustrator on all five Autonomous domain diagrams (HCM, CX, SCM, Spend, and Finance) and co-animated them with SAP's motion designer, each built on a consistent structural template: a central Joule node, four domain tiles, and a shared Agents/Apps/Data indicator. Every diagram was produced in both light and dark mode to support different contexts of use.

Light mode, shown here with Autonomous Spend in motion, alongside the remaining four domains.

Marketecture & Business Ai Platform Diagrams

Role: Co- Illustrator and Co-animator

Beyond the individual domains, I worked alongside SAP's creative team on the platform-level diagrams that tie the system together: the Autonomous Enterprise marketecture and the SAP Business AI Platform (BAIP) graphic, both built in light and dark mode, along with the motion pieces that bring them to life.

Light mode: the marketecture-to-BAIP transition animated, shown alongside both platform diagrams.

Autonomous Enterprise Icon System

Role: Style developer and Co-illustrator

I developed the visual style and the Recraft AI–assisted workflow used to produce the icon system running through the LOB diagrams, marketecture, and Business AI Platform graphics. Outside partner Factor Agency executed the full icon set using that workflow.
